All active clergy members of the New England, New York, North Central New York, Troy, Western New York or Wyoming conferences: the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of The United Methodist Church invites you to attend the Clergy Benefits Academy! New ordinands, mid-career, ready-to-retire, district superintendents, clergy extending the ministry of the local church...you are invited! There's something for everyone.
This year, the Clergy Benefits Academy will be held in Lake George, New York, November 10-12, 2008, and will help you learn something new about the many benefits issues that affect your life and ministry while giving you the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
Event Information
The Clergy Benefits Academy begins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10 with an opening celebration, worship and plenary session: Preparing for Life’s Transitions. The last class will conclude on Wednesday, November 12 at 4:20 p.m., thus ending the event.
The classes are scheduled on a track so you can attend each session. The classes are scheduled on a track so you can attend each session. Your assigned track will be sent to you in a confirmation e-mail prior to the event.
You can earn 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) if you complete 10 classes and 1 CEU if you complete seven classes. At event registration, you will receive a passport that will be stamped at the completion of each class. This passport will help us determine the CEUs to be awarded at the conclusion of the event.
Event registration begins at 11:00 a.m. and continues through 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10.
Details & Registration
Register early for a rate of $99.00 ($150.00 with spouse). Registration after September 30, 2008 is $125.00 ($175.00 with spouse). This fee includes:
- breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday,
- refreshment breaks, and
- Academy materials.
